Web Site Publishing Guidelines for Pittsford Area

Goal: The Pittsford Area School website is designed specifically
for the purpose of curriculum-related instruction and communication to
outside visitors about our school and its programs.

Any student-created web page that is designed for a teacher at Pittsford
will need to be previewed and approved by the teacher prior to being put
on the web

All subject matter should relate to curriculum, instruction, school-authorized
activities or other facts that relate to the school's mission.

Content must be consistent with the educational mission, goals and objectives
of the district.

Material placed on web pages is expected to meet academic standards for
proper spelling, grammar and accuracy of information.

No material, i.e graphics, backgrounds, clipart, photos, music
clips, will be posted on the Pittsford web site unless that material
is original, in the public domain or is used with the permission of the
copyright owner.

Web pages will not contain the address, phone number or email address of
students.

Teachers are responsible for the content of all class-based web pages.

Any teacher who publishes student work is responsible for gathering release
forms, editing/proofing work and pages, following all links to ensure reliability
and NOT linking to objectionable sites, maintaining, updating and removing
pages.

Technology department has the responsibility to edit or remove any web
pages not conforming to District guidelines or to bring it to the attention
of the building administrator for appropriate page changes.
