MS Word Web Page Design Required: Do not begin your page until you have read and understood the Web Publishing Guidelines for Pittsford School. Web pages posted to our server must be appropriate for a school setting.  Subject matter should relate to curriculum, instruction, school-authorized activities and contain content that is consistent with educational goals and objectives of Pittsford.  Pages are expected to meet academic standards for proper spelling, grammar and accuracy of information. All pages will be examined for content before they are posted to our site. Do not, under any circumstances, put your full name, address, phone number, or email address on your web page.  Do not link your school page to any personal page you may have on another server. Web pages that do not meet our criteria will not be posted to the Pittsford server.

    A few things to keep in mind:

• File Names:  To make it easier for the  web administrator to link your page, keep your filenames consistent.  Unix is not Windows!  Use all lowercase letters, no spaces, no punctuation or special characters.  Filenames should be 8 letters.htm   Example:  webpage.htm   (If you want to use a graphic that has an unusually long filename or one with spaces, change those filenames when you save them to your computer)
• Bandwith:  Most people will see your page over a slow modem connection.  Use graphics sparingly to avoid long load times for your viewers.
