Drafting I

I.          Course Title:  Drafting I       2 Semesters    2 Credits

II.          Course Description:

          The purpose of this class is to introduce the students to basic drafting techniques and           applications. The students will learn techniques to create sketches of objects. The student         will also use mechanical drawing tools as well as CAD (computer aided drafting)           programs to compose mechanical and architectural drawings. The emphasis in Drafting           I is on board composed drawings with an introduction to CAD.

III.         Prerequisite: 9th Grade Status

Drafting II

I.          Course Title:  Drafting II - Independent Drafting       2 Semesters    2 Credits

II.          Course Description:

          The purpose of this class is to continue with mechanical drawing and architectural           drawing with an emphasis on constructing drawings utilizing CAD programs. The    student will be expected to learn the large variety of commands necessary to utilize the           options available in CAD programs. The current programs utilized are AutoCad LT and           Solidworks. This is an independent class and students will be expected to be self-motivated        to learn and complete all of the assigned tasks. Students may have to come in during their           free time for any additional help they need. The student will also continue to construct           select drawings using traditional drafting tools.
